Jeff Hayes, Principal
When Jeff was 10 years old, Jack called him into his office and asked two questions that changed his life.  His first question, "Jeff, what do you want to be when you're twelve?" was a powerful lesson in the importance of a clear personal vision.  His second question, "... and how are you going to get there?" illustrated that if you don't set your own priorities, they'll be handed to you.  Jeff launched his first venture when he was 13 years old - the California Japanese Surf Classic.

By applying those same principles to his studies at the Berklee College of Music in Boston and in the animation departments of Disney, THQ, and Activision, Jeff enjoyed his 15-year career in the entertainment industry.  As a member of several award-winning development teams, he delivered cutting-edge electronic entertainment to very demanding clients.  In the process he received a real-world education in management, product development, leadership, and creative solutions to technical challenges.

Jeff joined The Vector Group part-time in 1998, going full-time in 2003.

Jack began his consulting career in 1968 by leaving coporate life and founding The Vector Group, and since then he's profitably grown over 20 small businesses. Jack came out of the international logistics industry, and his varied and productive career has led him to form a philosophy for growth expressed this way:
